2000 - OUT OF PLACE AND TIME (LIVE) [EKTOS TOPOU KAI CHRONOU]
From 1994 to 2000, Alkinoos tours all over Greece and Cyprus and makes his first steps abroad (NY Madison Square Garden, UK, Germany, Romania, Belgium, Georgia, Serbia etc). His concerts, full of energy and sensitivity, combined different elements, like Greek traditional references, long “jazzy” solos, pure ballads and rock attitude, in a unique mixture, that brought together different audiences. This occurred dew to the strong character and talent of the musicians, the diversity of the material and Alkinoos’ ability to mix different worlds together. His band at the time consisted by some of the most prominent Greece-based musicians: David Lynch (sax), Miltiades Papastamou (el. violin), Yiotis Kiourtsoglou (el. bass), Michalis Kapilidis (drums), Vangelis Karipis (percussion), while Stavros Lantsias played the keyboards and arranged the whole thing. In September 2000, the two final concerts of the summer tour, in Lycabetus Theater (with Dionyssis Savvopoulos, Eleftheria Arvanitaki and Dimitra Galani as guest stars) and Papagou Theater, were recorded and mixed by Vangelis Lappas, and "Out of Place and Time", Alkinoos’ first live double album was released a few months later.
